Executive Assistant Knows How to Keep a Fast Pace

Holly Reynolds loves the Indy 500. Her favorite race day tradition is the drawing of drivers by her family to see who picks the winner. Her favorite is Tony Kanaan.

The first gift Holly Reynolds ever received was a stocking from Hendricks Regional Health. That is because she was born at Danville Hospital during the month of December. It is tradition for babies who make their debut that month to get something handmade, usually a stocking, from The Sew and Sews, a group within the Volunteer Services department that produces many different items for HRH.

At this point, you might ask if she was named Holly because she was born near Christmas. Yes, she was! You might also wonder if she regrets her birth date like many people born on or close to a major holiday. Nope! Holly adores Christmas—her preferred season is winter—and does not mind celebrating her birthday the day after.

About this time last year, Holly and her mom came across the keepsake stocking and decided they would contact the Volunteer Services department to see if there was a way for them to give back to HRH and its patients. Some might say that email and stocking were serendipity because fast forward 365 days and Holly is the Executive Assistant to President & CEO Kevin Speer.

Holly comes to Hendricks from a Top 100 logistics company in Indianapolis. She spent 14 years there, assisting the company’s President & CEO and helping with several economic development projects and large-scale events here in central Indiana. Some of her favorite events include Super Bowl XLVI/Super Cure, the Basket of Hope program and the 500 Festival. As a side note, Holly is an avid Indy 500 fan and has been attending races since she was 12. She, her mom and uncle, who grew up in Speedway, and her cousins all sit together in the fourth turn. So, getting to repeatedly drive the pace car because of her role at the logistics company is a significant highlight for Holly.

Before she joined the logistics industry, Holly worked for the Indiana Hospital Association, helping its government relations department. She started her career with the local airline American Trans Air.

Holly says, two months in at Hendricks, “The commercials show how it is. Everyone is so warm and welcoming. The teamwork here is incredible, and I’m learning just how much Kevin cares for others. I am happy.”

Holly is a dog mom to Duke Noel, a Cockapoo that she enjoys walking around her native Plainfield. Holly loves all dogs, no matter the breed, so it is fitting that her best friend owns a dog bakery and lets her help.

She likes concerts (country music and Carrie Underwood rank high in this category), watching reality TV and movies with her beloved niece and hopes to visit Italy someday. Her Building 1 neighbors have described her as unflappable, probably because Holly’s life advice is: “Do one thing that scares you every day.”
