Family-Friendly Fall Activities Right Here in Hendricks County

1. Indy Cat Club Show. Do you have a feline friend who’s ready to become a star? If so, the Indy Cat Club Show in Danville could be their chance. Believe it or not, this show has been happening for 48 years, and is open to anyone who thinks their kitty is ready for the big time. Keep in mind there’s a fee to enter your cat into the competition, which is held October 26 and 27 at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds.

2. McCloud Prairie Maze. With more than 200 acres of woods and trails to explore, the McCloud Nature Park is a great place to spend a day. But it gets even better in fall when they create their annual prairie maze, and this year’s design is in the shape of a Monarch butterfly. It’s only about a half-mile walk to get through, and especially because of this year’s incredible design, is something you definitely won’t want to miss. The maze is open from now until Halloween, and is free.

3. Washington Township Annual Arts and Craft Fair. The Washington Township Annual Arts and Craft Fair in Avon on November 23 is a family-friendly event with lots to do for kids. And with booths full of pottery, clothes, jewelry and other hand-made items, it’s a great chance to see our talented local artists in action. It’s all happening at Washington Township Park — a fun place to visit even when the fair is over!

4. Hogan Farms. This fall tradition on a family-owned farm in Brownsburg includes a large corn maze, pumpkin patch, hayride to an animal experience on the farm and much more. The Hogan Farms Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze experience is open every day but Monday during the month of October.
